Sin and Hell

…The chief punishment of hell is eternal separation from God, in whom alone man can possess the life and happiness for which he was created and for which he longs.

Begin each prayer period with your preparatory prayer and with the grace you are seeking. In these exercises, it will be “the gift of feeling shame and confusion before God as I consider the effects of even one sin as compared with my own sinful life. I may find it helpful to imagine myself as bound, helpless, alienated as I enter into these exercises dealing with Sin”
